New York Travel Tip: Compare Airports and Save

nycplaneOne of the perks of flying to and from a big city like New York City is that you’ll have multiple options for which airports you travel through. More airports means more flights, more competition, and often, more deals.

If you’re planning a trip to New York, be sure to check the prices of flights flying into all three nearby airports – JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty.

You may find that one is significantly cheaper that the other. Of course, be sure to take into account the costs and time involved in getting from each airport into the city, if that is your final destination.

If you plan on taking a taxi, LaGuardia is your best bet. If you’re comfortable with public transportation and want the cheapest possible option, JFK is ideal. If you want an inexpensive option but don’t want to deal with sorting confusing details, hop on the airport shuttle from Newark. If you’re leaving a car at the airport, Newark is also ideal – it’s about 15 miles from the city and Newark Airport parking costs about $12 per day.

Be sure to check on the deals from Newark, JFK and LaGaurdia before you book your NYC travel to make sure you’re getting the best deal for you.
