September 11th 2001 In 56 Photos

by Mika on September 11, 2008

by Mika | September 11th, 2008

No one is going to forget the events of September 11th, 2001 anytime soon, and for most of us just hearing that date approaching on the calendar makes us reflective and sad, if not pissed off. The Pentagon part of that day was also tragic, but the World Trade Center towers 1 and 2 collapsing has left scars on New York City that won’t heal even after the new Freedom Tower is finally completed on the site.

Today I received an email that’s been going around with a PowerPoint file attached which had these 56 photos in them, showing those devastating events at the World Trade Center. I’ve grabbed the photos and added them here so people who don’t have PowerPoint installed can see them. If anyone knows the source of the original PowerPoint file, please post in comments and I’d be happy to link to them for credit.

Just_Ali: Thanks for that slam dunk proof there.

Since it was printed by Popular mechanics it must be proof positive that the 9/11 conspiracy theories are just that “THEORIES”.

Make sure though, that you are aware that “POPULAR MECHANICS” is a publication that is owned and operated by Hearst Publications and more importantly, that you do a search on Hearst and where his loyalties lie.

I am sure that in your research, you may find a discrepancy or two in the FACTS that are published by his rags. Sorry, magazines.

When you are done researching him, look at this link and get educated some more before spouting out your dribble.

All of you who replied to this thread, with the idea that the US didn’t at least in part, do this to it’s self, need to take a good look at your country. The facts ARE the facts!! The US needs to get her head out of it’s ass and take a HUGE dose of REALITY. Overall the World hates you!! Why do you think that is? Basically because you all think that your supreme country, is so fucking much better than every other counrty in the World and that the rest of us pale in comparison. And those of us who aren’t Americans are tired of YOU thumbing your nose at us. Time to wake up Americans!! We NON-Americans aren’t like your little brother or sister that you can just boss around whenever you see fit!!

Its amazing that when you show these idiots evidence that it was not an “inside job”, they then attack the owner of the magazine. The “History Channel” ran a whole series of 911 stuff for the anniversary, including the conspiracies and it only confirms that it was not an inside job. The “History Channel” is fairly liberal on most thing too. Debunking911.com is a great place to get some honest scientific evidence that it was not an inside job. Here is a little from their front page.

…Yet, in just under four years, the 9/11 “truth movement” has ground to a halt. Apart from the fundamental incoherence of their theories, the downfall of the 9/11 denier juggernaut was good old-fashioned skepticism at its finest, the kind that conjures visions of James Randi challenging psychics and faith healers on their home turfs and winning. Skeptics are better at their jobs than they think, and its important to give credit where credit is due.

Staking their fortunes almost solely on Internet-based content may have been the 9/11 deniers’ biggest mistake. What seems like a perfect place for pseudoscience — the Internet is un-edited, without fact-checkers or minimum publishing standards of any kind — also became a perfect place for a rapid-response system of blogs and forums to fight back. Drawing on the freely available technical information from the NIST, FEMA, and academic journals which most colleges let their students access for free, skeptical sites like ScrewLooseChange.blogspot.com and debunking911.com are able to defuse 9/11 denier claims as they arise…

I’ve spent far too much of my own time watching all the 911 truthers crap. Its nice to have an outfit like debunking911.com to spend the energy necessary to stop this insanity.
I would like to offer a few of my observations. Bush was in office for only 9 months when 911 happened. It would be impossible to plan and execute all those supposed orders in that amount of time, including setting up all the supposed explosives, and keep anyone from spilling the beans. In 7 years there has not been anyone out of the several thousand people that it would take to pull this off to come out and say that they had something to do with it, and that Bush ordered them to do it. I know that Bush is powerful, but really, for a guy that the liberals say can’t even tie his own shoe, its absurd to think he could have done this.
Thermite eats through steel relatively slowly, way to slow for the type of demo that they use to bring buildings down with.
Its also a strange thing that there were no fuses found at any of the sites including building #7. When demo people blow buildings there are always lots of fusses to be found. I guess Bush had them cleaned up right after the buildings fell, huh!
Alex Jones, I heard, is a diagnosed schizophrenic and I know he is a registered Democrat, so its not hard to see that he would push this propaganda for his party. None of his video’s have any proof of anything in them. They are all innuendo and non-science. When one really wants to prove something one goes out of ones way to do so. You don’t blur out an article and only show the one, or two sentences that seem to prove your point.
You 911 truthers have no ability to discern facts. You have no common sense whatever. You win, its imposable to convince someone with no common sense of the truth.

Cosmo- You go girl. Good going on all your success in your life. I know it upsets liberals to think that you could have done so well, but they themselves are too lazy to achieve the same things on their own. They feel that they have to steal to get ahead.

Oh, the History Channel huh? Also, owned by Hearst publications.

Take a look at Hearst Publications and where their loyalties lie.

Jared, not only are you the idiot, but you are uneducated as well.

This whole production was in place to go back to Iraq and finish what Bush Sr. started, but couldn’t finish himself. Planned since the older numb nuts left office in 92.

I can see chimpo Jr. now, “nobody is gonna make my daddy look bad”.

Actually, Bush was in office for only 7 1/2 months when 9/11 happened, and I agree that the muppet has difficulty tying his shoe, you don’t think that the powers that be behind his shadow presidency would let him handle details that important.

Take a look at this Jared:
Up until Sept. 11, 2001, Bush had spent 54 days at the ranch, 38 days at Camp David, and four days at the Bush compound in Kennebunkport—a total of 96 days, or about 40 percent of his presidency, outside of Washington.

96 days away from the White House. As dumb as he is, I do believe that in 96 days he could have gotten a plan together.

All power turned off at the WTC buildings, bomb sniffing dogs removed, and so much more “coincidence”. I am no longer going to try to convince you(a mental midget) of the possibilities here.

Go back to your sheltered life in middle America and pretend that this entire tragedy was orchestrated ENTIRELY by middle eastern goatfarmers and such.

I would venture to say that you are Cosmos mate “you go girl”, but then that would mean that I have to believe her story that she just had to post here to “PROVE” to the internet that she is educated as well.

The more likely scenario is that she lives in a basement somewhere, works at Dairy Queen, and at the end of her shifts (that are being outsourced to teenagers that are not 300 pounds) she goes home to her 4 cats (kids) and tries to live out her fantasy online of being a worthwhile contribution to society. In between games of WOW.

Take your blinders off and get an education you right wing fucktard.

Bock, Bock, Bock….

Jared, I just wanted to make sure that you knew that it was me making the comment.

After reading your previous comments, I can tell you aren’t the sharpest tool in the shed.

All insults aside, I want to thank you for giving me my world, you powerful little man.

FACTS:

James Meigs, Editor of Popular Mechanics had this to say.
“We assembled a team of reporters and researchers, including professional fact checkers and the editors of PM, and methodically analyzed all 16 conspiracy claims. We interviewed scores of engineers, aviation experts, military officials, eyewitnesses and members of the investigative teams who have held the wreckage of the attacks in their own hands. We pored over photography, maps, blueprints, aviation logs and transcripts. In every single instance, we found that the facts used by the conspiracy theorists to support their fantasies were mistaken, misunderstood, or deliberately falsified.”

This sounds impressive, but the article provides no evidence to back up these claims. It provides no footnotes to source its many assertions, and despite the scores of experts listed in its final section, the article cites only a few “experts,” who would themselves likely be suspects if normal criminal justice procedures were used to investigate the crime.

Moreover, glaring errors in the article — such as the assertion that there was only a single interception in the decade before 9/11/01 — doesn’t inspire confidence in PM’s “professional fact checkers.” It echoes the discredited assertions of official reports such as the FEMA WTC Building Performance Study and the 9/11 Commission Report, and provides no evidence that it is anything but a well-orchestrated hit piece to perpetuate the 9/11 cover-up.

I invite you to read the contents of this website once again.

http://911research.wtc7.net/essays/pm/

I will finalize my comment to you with this parting line Jared.

I love my country, but I fear my government.

I can see between the lines and what I see is not good for OUR future.

Going to war with Iraq, Afghanistan, the possibility of Iran and now Georgia.

Do you think that makes us look like heroes to the world?

We look like bullies and as a result Americans are and will be targeted when traveling abroad in the years to come.

No problem, if you want to stay here and never leave the U.S.

I hope you don’t have kids of military age. It has been said that if McCain is elected, he will reinstate the draft and then our children will go and fight in a war that was started on lies.

More death, more resentment etc.

Do you see where this is going?

Whenever I need to find the most moronic, narrow-minded fools on earth, I now know where to find them– on this page!

I have been working on a book about why there are still some who believe the earth is flat and the moon is made of cheese. I now have to re-work it to include all these geniuses who “know” and have all this “evidence” that 9/11 was an inside job, that the U.S. did it, that there were no planes which crashed into the Pentagon or Pennsylvania (that the passengers on those planes simply vanished into thin air or were abducted by aliens), that explosives in both towers brought them down, and that hundreds of individuals in both the private sector and multiple government agencies have all been able to keep quiet about their conspiracy!

I love it!!

P.S. Oh yeah– I MUST include the juicy tidbit about how Hearst (a black ops arm of the Bush administration) controls EVERYTHING said or shown on The History Channel! As a producer of some of those programs, I am particularly intrigued by that fantastic and well-documented piece of intel!

“Iraq” and “Muslims” did not attack NY. As said somewhere above Iraq is a country, being Muslim is a religion. Its like saying all white guys or black guys are such and such. You cant just generalise a whole sect! Myself and most the people I know do not like a lot of Americans (i dont say ALL) but all mourned on day of 9/11. As much as it was a tragic loss of a lot of innocent lives, Im also painfully aware of the millions that the US have killed in the past century, the only reason why those societies dont go on about it all the time is because they have bigger problems on a daily basis like ‘can i go to the shop today without getting killed’. It really is all very sad what this world has come to.

Reading what BigBob and Cosmo said, I have never been more proud to be a “fucking retarded” liberal. If all a coherent argument requires is the use of several expletives and and other bombastic language, then I must have missed many English classes. For now, let me give you my (educated) opinion on September 11, 2001. Feel free to give your coherent argument in response as you will.

September 11, 2001 was a terrible day in this country’s history. Roughly 3,000 people were killed in the destruction of the World Trade Center. It, as has been stated clearly every year on its anniversary, was the single greatest attack on American soil in many years. I personally believe the attack was planned by Osama bin Laden, though I admit I may be incorrect.

I don’t think there was any sane person who did not mourn the loss of those 3,000 Americans. The country was so stricken by grief and fear in the time of mourning that they wanted immediate retribution to fall upon those responsible. They were willing to accept any action that appeared to be fighting back against the culprits.

Thus, 2 years later, U.S. soldiers stepped onto Iraqi soil after the American people were led to believe that 1) Saddam Hussein, along with Osama bin Laden, had planned the attack on the World Trade Center and, 2) there was no doubt that Saddam was in possession of nuclear weapons that he intended to unleash upon the U.S. The Bush administration was behind these beliefs implanted in the American people.

One year after the beginning of the invasion, Saddam had been captured and the mission was accomplished. At this point our new mission had arrived. All we had to do is set up a system of government in Iraq that was self-sustaining, and our soldiers would be returning to their homes.

Five years later we are still in Iraq. A system of government has been set up, but of course some time ago our troops were given another mission: Defeat Al-Qaeda. It is suspected that, if in the next term our president does not get our troops out of Iraq, we could be there for another 15 years. It is really just a matter of convenience that oil has been there waiting for us, and America was quick to exploit that convenience.

There are many more political points I could harp on if I choose, like all of our foreign contracts were given to Halliburton(sp?) and other such things, but I think I will leave there and let you ponder over what I’ve already said.

If you are going to reply to this, I ask only that you refrain from using expletives or gratuitous and insulting uses of the term “liberal”.

SOLUTION (Like firefighters the government heroically produce an answer)(to the problem they engineered in the first place!!)

Its just the 20th century of the lynch mob, the crowd gets whipped into a frenzy, then hangs the scapegoat, whilst the manipulators and real bad guys hide in plain sight.

Funny how even after the increase in fuel prices, Bush has announced that he needs a further estimated 700 billion dollars to restore the economic crisis in America. The oil will not change anything. If the cost to buy a product (Oil in this example) increases then unfortunately, It will have an effect on the Population living not only in America, but across the world. It’s easy to assume the reasoning for the war is Oil but I’m confident that theres a little more behind it. I’m from the UK and we have a ‘Credit Crunch’ here at the moment as everyone should know. If any member of the public is asked about the main problem resulting in the credit crunch, the answer will be Fuel. As Calvin said, money controls our lives. Can money make somebody happy? The answer is Yes.

This is the most ridiculous set of posts that I have ever seen. You guys think that each of you has the facts and and that what you believe is so well informed and that everyone else is ignorant assholes. For educated people, try having some objectivity. Doubt what you believe so whole-heartedly for a second and realize what is within your power to know. You can read conspiracies all day, and you can speculate all you want, but how are you helping the situation by saying the shit that is on this post?

America is in dire straights right now and the people need to unite like they did the days following this atrocious incident. It would also serve our people well to actually study and look at other systems of Government are, how they work, and then formulate an opinion on why you think what you do. Try wikipedia for information on Fascism cause you probably dont know what it actually means. Try to think about the influence that free-market economics has had on our economy. Try to take the terms that are thrown around so frequently (and blindly) and make sure you actually know what they mean.

Basically, quit all your fucking speculation, realize which shit you actually know, and which you just pretend to know. Finally, leave the country for a fresh perspective and to hear what others think about the current situation. You will find that it is a lot different than many of you think.

Last words: for God’s sake, please remember to keep a separation between church and state. Religion is the cause of so many of our nations promblems… (and there is definitely irony intended)

To Craig and the rest of you knuckle-dragging, self-serving morons. Please, each of you write back in response to my comments here one thing: “Where I was on 9/11/01 at 8:40AM EDT”.

That’s all I want to know. I’ll wager a VERY large percentage of you were still sleeping in your beds, which happen to either be in your mothers home because you were still young and had/have your heads up your asses, or your college dorm (still passed out drunk or stoned). I really want to know what you were doing for this country, for its economy, and for the improvement of the lives of others.

Where did you formulate your opinion of what happened on 9/11? Think about the person that fed you their perspective, what kind of house do they own? What kind of car do they drive, for that matter look at yourselves. You are all probably struggling very hard to even hold together some semblance of a normal life. You can’t understand why it is not you that is receiving the promotion, even though you’ve been there 3 years longer than the person just promoted over you (if in fact you even work in a place that promotes people, and I don’t mean from laundry duty to lunch line). You must have something to make you feel better about your pitiful existence, so you blame everyone else. Even to the point to blame our own government for conducting the travesty that happened that Monday morning.

Take a long, hard look in the mirror. Forget about everything for about 5 minutes while you evaluate yourself. Truthfully, have you done everything you can to make your life the best it can be. Is there something you could be doing to make your life better? Stop being lazy. Stop blaming your shortcomings on everyone but the one person that actually has control over fixing the problem. Stop mumbling under your breath when someone points out that what you are doing is wrong, especially if they are right. Stop mistaking embarrassment with virtue. You cannot do anything you want, there are rules, if you break those rules, and operate outside the realm of what society as a whole deems to be normal, then you deserve to be punished and ridiculed. The reason the country has gotten to where it is today, is due to Political Correctness. I’m sick of enabling the minority to dictate the actions of the majority.

Tell me something, what goes on in your head that enables you to rationalize behavior that has, quite frankly, gotten you to where you are today. What goes on in your head that makes you believe for one second that you are as good as everyone else, and should reap the same rewards they have been afforded through hard work, determination, and sacrifice when you have not put forth the same effort? A lot of people use the Constitution as a crutch, they sheepishly hang on to the line “All men are created equal”. Well, I have a news flash for all of you that don’t already know it: The Constitution was written by, and for, the Rich, White Land-owners of Colonial America. Anyone that did not own land in this country was viewed as not having enough of a stake in the well-being of our government and therefore, not in the same league as those capable of voting on the laws which shape this great nation. You were given as much thought by the founding fathers as you would afford your pet goldfish if you were to write a constitution today. You were either property, poverty, or propriety.

Here’s another question: How many of you that think our government was responsible for 9/11 cashed your stimulus package check? If you did, then you are even more disgusting to me than before. I’ve seen time and time again the doublespeak and twisted sense of morals that those kind of people possess. On one hand, they’ll spit on the graves of the men and women in Arlington National Cemetery, and on the other, they’ll sign up for every government program available to them (if you are on welfare of ANY kind, and you dislike this government, kindly find another continent on which to live, thanks very much, I would much rather my tax dollars be spent on something USEFUL).

I’m really disgusted with those few living among us that also blame the Bush administration for where we are today. Do the rest of the country a favor and read a little bit. I don’t mean read what your greasy-haired, marijuana dulled, raggedy bearded friend wrote about Bush, I mean go back into the archives at CNN, find articles about how the Clinton administration started Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac down the road of enabling people that should never own anything to have a house to call their own (that they subsequently mortgage three times and then leave it in disarray for the government to come back in and give the house to someone else). There’s a reason certain people do not have anything, it’s because they could not do it on their own. Please read about the bombings that happened during the Clinton Administration, and how one night, an Air Force Special Operations unit had Osama Bin Laden and never received the executive order to eliminate the threat because the ex-Prez was too busy getting his knob waxed by an intern in the Oval Orifice. (Please TRY and deny these FACTS).

There is not one person on this earth that has less than what they have worked for. The problem lies with those that believe they deserve more.

Does Al Qaeda exist in Iraq now? Yes. Does it also exist in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, and other remote areas in surrounding countries? Yes.

The Clinton administration warned of an attack from Osama Bin Laden, but it never said anything about Iraq training Al Qaeda.

Should we be working to eliminate Al Qaeda? Yes
Should we have destroyed Iraq’s infrastructure based on information we gained from torture? No

No government has been able to sustain a working economy and a fierce imperialistic military. We’ve been driving ourselves into the ground since Vietnam. Its time to stop the bloodshed, and stop policing the globe. We need to focus on the issues at home before we tell anyone else how to live.

If I were in charge of the U.S. I would have taken over the entire planet by now. There would be 550 stars on the flag. Everything would belong to me! I’d kill everyone who stood against me. The world would tremble and fall completely under my control. Gas would cost 30 cents a gallon! All communications would be monitored. There would be cameras everywhere (even in bathrooms). All utilities would be owned and operated by my government. My word would be law! I would force Osama Bin Laden to eat his parents.
I would have 47 virgins right here on earth (even though it would be hard to find 47 virgins of legal age. I would abolish all laws and replace them with only one; OBEY ME! No more burning the rain forests. No more polluting of land and sea would be allowed. All cars and trucks would have to switch to Hydrogen in 5 years. Anyone who made a bad movie would be beheaded.
No one would be allowed to kill anyone else without my written permission.
Paulie Shore would be lobotomized. All politicians would be castrated and left alone to survive on a deserted island. Likewise lawyers. Animal cruelty would be a capital crime.
When in doubt I would…

Kill them all, Let God sort them out.

Hey Rawr, did I strike a nerve? Is it my fault you never made it past High School? If you lack the capacity for higher learning, then I apologize.

As for the rest of you “Bush Haters” pull your heads out of your (more than likely) wide asses, get an education, start contributing to society, and stop placing blame on Bush when the recent and former DEMOCRATIC congress and the CLINTON administration started this country down this path. Had Bush not taken over and had he not gone after Bin Laden we would have been attacked several times over by now, and this site would contain several pages of remembrance.

Do some homework for God’s sake (I know it’s been a long time since you actually read anything for knowledge purposes, and I don’t mean left wing propaganda sites that feed lies to those that take everything as fact) and learn about the policies of the Clinton Administration. Bush inherited the lax, liberal BS from an ADULTERER and a LIAR. How long do you think it took to plan 9/11? This country has been actively going after Bin Laden since 1995, we had him at one point, but hippie love ex prez wouldn’t give the order to eliminate the threat (and yes, I condone the killing of people like Bin Laden to save the lives of innocent Americans).

Here’s an article from the NY Times in 1999… Anyone want to know where the downfall of our current economy got started?

To Carissa,
“(yep, that’s GOD, not ALLAH.)”

“Allah” is Classical Arabic for God: Allah is God. That’s right, those “ragheads” you can’t wait to “shoot up” believe in God. YOUR GOD. You know what else? They believe in Jesus Christ as a (pay attention now) bringer of God’s message. So before you eagerly go blow off the head of some “camel jockey bitch,” maybe you should open your eyes and see your similarities. It’s this exact thinking that we don’t need in healing severed bonds with the Middle East. As a Muslim-American, this hurts me.

To The Rest of You,
It frightens me that so much hate can come from a devastating event that requires (y)our unity. We may not all agree on the whats and hows but slandering each other murderously doesn’t solve anything. What happened happened and we need to find a way to fix it’s implications.

A few of these are ridiculously photoshopped. In one picture, a 2-story-sized person is falling from a little window, and is 3 times the size of teeny ant people 500 feet closer to the camera than he is.
PHOTO SHOPPO.

why do you people look at these pictures and fight about it?
look at all the people that died, in an insane way!
inside job? whatever, you dont even know how hard this could have been for the government… they must have went through some of the shit we went through
they are human…
photoshoped?
who cares, they’re still depicting the horror of that one day, where some many people lost their loved ones.
for you Americans, I’m surprised. We are so big headed and stupid, that we have to argue points that should just be left alone, what happened to the people of peace that so many people wanted to be in the 60′s?
take a deep breath, look again at those photos and think
“that could have been me falling from a building to my death.”
“I could be so unlucky as to not ever get to see my family again.”
CRY over the god damned “photoshoped” pictures, that “were an inside job” because even if those were true, it still happened and people still died.

Cosmo….no one gives a crap about your life, even thought I think you made most of it up.So real or fake no one really gives a shit. You typed all that for nothing.
And to whoever said we are terrorists,I have to agree with you.And people are too ‘loyal’ to admit that truth. The entity that America has become is a monster and it feeds on other nations. Now it is beginning to feed on itself,it wont take long for us to self destruct. And thats what Bin Laden wanted.

Boston… I’m intrigued… how did you come up with such a detailed assessment of Cosmo’s probable daily routine?

As for the WTC tragedy…no matter which way you look at it, no matter how much or how little inside info you have, I think that we all could agree that the more people would commit to living rightly, to doing what is fair, honest, and respectful to one another within each one’s tangible sphere of influence, it would have more effect on stemming corruption, preventing things like this as well as inappropriate responses to things like this from happening, more than even any legal policy decisions or votes for decision-makers ever could.

As for inside info, there has always been and will always be a lot more going on than meets the eye. The book of Revelation says that *all* the “kings and captains of the earth” will be food for the birds, because they *all* (not just Russia, not just America, not just Iraq) worked together behind the scenes to foment strife and bloodshed and profit-mongering in ways that misled many people to the loss of their souls. However, it can also work the other way, and wake people up to the reality that you can’t solve it by fighting the enemy–the Allies should not even have won WWII, by all calculations of military strength; the pivotal moments of its greatest battles were turned around through inexplicable events witnessed by both sides, such as cavalry charges out of nowhere on white steeds that were impervious to bullets, following huge seasons of prayer by millions of people–and you can’t solve it by attempting to force people to be pacifists, either.

The greatest positive effect the individual can have in these events is to live a life that is boldly, personally all about being in support of everyone with whom you are in contact, and in support of their living that way too–in short, each of us resolving to do our best to be all that our presidential candidates are *claiming* to be and more, and know where the source of strength to do that comes from.

Damn, reading through these comments makes me really worried about the fact that America is seen as the world’s super power.

You have people correcting each other’s grammar and then making grammatically and spelling mistakes themselves! Then on top of that you have others spewing out these radical, extremist beliefs.

I, for one, am more worried about the comments on this page than the pictures shown…

And, for those interested, I am a resident of a supposedly third world country!
