September 11th 2001 In 56 Photos

by Mika on September 11, 2008

by Mika | September 11th, 2008

No one is going to forget the events of September 11th, 2001 anytime soon, and for most of us just hearing that date approaching on the calendar makes us reflective and sad, if not pissed off. The Pentagon part of that day was also tragic, but the World Trade Center towers 1 and 2 collapsing has left scars on New York City that won’t heal even after the new Freedom Tower is finally completed on the site.

Today I received an email that’s been going around with a PowerPoint file attached which had these 56 photos in them, showing those devastating events at the World Trade Center. I’ve grabbed the photos and added them here so people who don’t have PowerPoint installed can see them. If anyone knows the source of the original PowerPoint file, please post in comments and I’d be happy to link to them for credit.

I told you, Vote for me and I’ll set you free!

@Clint Don’t judge us by the idiots that post on the internet. We are sick degenerates that do not represent the average American citizen.

Especially me!!!

These pictures make me sad, but the comments make me ashamed to be American. I love my country, and I am so proud of our Constitution. America is a beacon of freedom that pierces the darkness of oppression. Recently I believe the light bulb in the beacon needs to be replaced.

We (Americans) need to decrease our attention to who Tony Romo is dating, and we need to focus on the current condition of our country. I hope we can pull ourselves out of the bog, but it will take understanding, thoughtfulness, and commitment.

The blame game won’t provide the answers we need to thrive. So stop believing the U.S. government or aliens brought down the twin towers and start thinking ways you can help your neighbor.

p.s. – For you conspiracy theorists, we landed on the moon.

You should be ashamed for putting these pictures up for people to gawk at. I “stumbled” this page and was not looking to see pictures of desperate people committing desperate acts. Nobody should be able to go on the internet and see pictures of someone’s loved ones leaping to certain death. What happened on 9/11 was a tragedy and posting such photos is sickening.

I appreciate some of the comments written by some of America’s intellectual class (too bad it’s America’s idiots that get the most mainstream attention)…if you read up further on the matter, and just employ basic common sense, you’ll realize it is an inside job. How could a plane, destroy such an enormous tower (one per tower), from its foundations? The plane hit a small wing of the building, but how did they building from the foundation crumble? Demolition was obviously employed..

I find it sad that these picture’s spark such a debate. While I agree with many of the comments I’m not sure that was the point of the slide show. I just hope all of you are registared to vote (those who reside in the US). Today is the last day to register, and begin the process of change. This country needs it!!

This is the first time I’ve seen pictures.

When it all went down, I only listened to radio, and only on the day. After that I figured that I didn’t want to be manipulated by media, so I avoided it.

I’ve read all the bits about it and it’s true.

Thanks for the post.

Good luck everyone.

what beautiful pictures. I like to look at them and remember the days hatred spread into the shitnuggethearts of US citizens. Blame the American Dream, the bush administration or the big oil companies are not gonna solve the smell that is coming out of American Idol’s detached cuntdick.
Fucking shit, let’s keep all the money for ourselves, whatever the concept of ‘ourselves’ is, and not share. Who cares if people live in poverty without clear water and sanition. As long as i can watch Sex and the City in my Minivan with my four fat kids stuffing away supersize meals. Please vote on the puppet on the left, or choose the puppet on the right. Nothing is going to change here. Maximize profit over dead African blood. Terrorist hate us and probably the majority in the world too. But I;m not giving away my luxury, nor my status quo. The US is rotting from inside.

Sorry, but I read a lot of comments saying that the Arabs were trowing a party when the planes crashed, but what was Bush doing? Emhh reading fairy tales to kids, just like he does to the rest of the country, i’m glad not everyone belives in fairy tales. And a lot of people saying how that day innocent lives where taken, but how many innocent lives are taken daily, civilians that don’t have a clue why someone it’s shooting at them, that didn’t asked their goverment for that, american soldiers that didn’t had another option than the army or a lame work at Wal-Mart, there are more victims than the ones lost that day but a lot of people is more interested about Angelina Jolie’s babies.

While these images are still difficult to look at and remember…thank you for this collection. A day that we ALL shall never forget.

And to the arguing folks above…I remember a day, a week, a month, months even where we were all united. One America. What happened?

Politics is what happened. The country was so divided over the 2000 election outcome and the previous eight years that even when we came together it was only an emotional thing that happened on the surface. Have you noticed how many conspiracy theories popped up and how they all point to either the Dems or the Pubs except the few that blame the government as a whole? We have become so politically polarized that it takes a major crisis like the current financial mess for Congress to cross the aisle long enough to get anything done. Meanwhile, “we the people” monitor our chosen news sources and regurgitate what we’re being fed in the faces of those who disagree. I seem to remember a time when candidates ran adds that promoted their own positions rather than tear down the character of their opponent. We’ve come a long way, baby!

You people arguing about the Iraq war on a 9/11 page, along with the ones spouting ignorant bullshit that it was all a plan by the US government need to do the rest of the human race a favor and don’t procreate, your genes aren’t worth it. Go find a nice lion and help out the rest of us.

This was a sad and horrible event that deserves more respect that what you people seem capable of, take a good look at yourselves and how you think, because you should be ashamed.

I am not American. I am not Iraqi. What ever happened on 9/11, like the rest of the world, I saw in the media blitz that followed.

A friend came across this page and sent me the link to check out the pictures. He said the pictures really moved him (take into account this is not even our country, we’re far frickin’ removed from it). The pictures moved me too. You feel a such a sense of loss after the whole lot…..but it’s all for nothing – the comments follow and I swear to you, I have never felt so disgusted before. To all the gung-ho-kill anything-that-defies-us Americans – no wonder so many people around the world dislike you. You deserve every drop of hate filled spit splattered on your faces. You lot just defiled and raped the tragedy that your country suffered. Congratulations. Now go and do what you’re really good at – make 9/11 merchandise and sell yourselves off. At least that’s more honest than this crock of shit.

Jesus Fucking Christ!

From a minivan owning, “I have 17 degrees in 54 different subjects” and still can’t spell, to gung-ho layabouts spewing horrendous diatribe in relation to topics they have little, or FOX news-fed knowledge of – heed this: Lay off the GHB!

Just peek at the title bar (the pretty thing at the very top of your browser) it says ‘New York Travel Guide’.
What this your hotel? I think not. If it was then you deserve a full refund.
We all hope this heinous nonsense will cease, alas it won’t it will metamorphose into a new beast. Sad.

As a family member of one of the thousands killed horribly on this day, REGARDLESS of by whom or what conspiracy or WHATEVER you subscribe to… ALL but maybe three of you make my stomach turn.

Remembering this day ISN’T about politics, you small minded evil people. It’s about remembering the people lost and those who lost them. ME and thousands of others like me, a good number of which I might point out, weren’t even Americans. The WTC’s held MANY embassies (sp?).

I’m just sad and sickened and ashamed for those of you who can’t seem to be for yourselves.

Go ahead, attack me. I won’t be back to see what you say.

look at these pictures! i know its hard everytime i look at them i want to break down in tears. but if we just forget about what a huge impact this had and how much destruction it cause then it’s bound to happen again. and what about those childfund commercials where they show young kids suffering and in hunger i see it all the time and it just ruins everything BUT it has an impact on me to do something about it. so look at these pictures long and hard and do something so that people of the future will never have to experience this and only through picture.
